#Leggings去HK (Day 1) - Tsui Wah Restaurant | Mongkok, Fa Yuen Street

Wednesday, April 1, 2015
Gonna try to keep these Hong Kong posts short like a photo journal because I wasn't the one planning the itinerary (Weiling did!!) so I remember nothing LOL.......... I will wait for Weiling's blog post and hopefully she puts in more details than mine HAHAHAHA

Also just fyi, I actually went with 2 separate group of friends from 2 entirely different social circles...... The first group was basically my secondary school clique (Weiling, Kimberly) and the second group was 3/4 of my poly clique, Jeggings (Marilyn, Samantha, Kevin, Princess) la. So both groups didn't really know the other group very well haha and I was the middle person lor╭( ・ㅂ・)و

OK LIKE YOU MUST BE WONDERING (or not) WHY SO WEIRD ONE THE COMBI HAHAHAHA. It all started out when Weiling, Kim and I planned to go Hong Kong since last year, since Kim knows her way around a lot. We just briefly talked about it here and there for like 5 months, but we never actually materialized or planned for it?? So I just kind of thought the plan just went poof??

And then one day in February, Kevin and I were just randomly talking about going overseas together with Jeggings?? I thought it was just one of those "anyhow anyhow say one" kind of promise, but then the next day in lecture he asked me ".....So when are we going overseas?" I was quite shocked cause I didn't know he was legit serious, but we still went to look for airplane tickets/hotel accommodations in the middle of lecture CAUSE EXCITED LA LOL. We (actually I) wanted to go to Bangkok, but then Sam suggested Hong Kong cause she also knows her way around there la!!

Ok after sort of confirming our interest in going to HK, I went to ask Weiling and Kim if our HK plan was still on because we hadn't talked about it in very long. When they said it was, I was like "ok, that means I can't go with Jeggings anymore" .................... AND THEN I DECIDED LIKE WHAT IF I MERGE THE TWO TRIPS TOGETHER hahahahaha so I can have the best of both worlds and not go on 2 separate overseas trips with my friends
◦°˚\(*❛‿❛)/˚°◦

And so that is what I did and about three days later, we booked our air tickets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Had to rush everyone to confirm asap because Singapore Airlines got discount lol $376 only for 2-way ticket to Hong Kong!!!!! Booking the air tickets was so scary wtf lol because we booked a little bit before it was too late and there were so little seats left!!!!!!!!! So little that we couldn't even sit together and we all had to sit alone LOL.

But alas my mum is awesome and 1 night before our flight, she managed to help us get better seats!!!!! So instead of sitting alone for 4 hours (LOL), 4 of us got to sit together in a row while another 2 sat together near the window!!!

Also anyway #Leggings去HK came about because 5/7 of those who went were from my poly clique..... And we call ourselves Jeggings so someone decided to call us Leggings instead LOL. And I think they all actually got along really well so yay no awkwardness hehehehehehe

ok long story over haha so much for keeping these posts short pffffft

Eggs and the dessert wasn't very nice......But I exchanged like 1/2 a sausage for 1 bread roll with Kevin SO YAY 2 BREAD ROLLS shiok max!!!!!!!

Took the Airport Express train out and we were so confused???? We thought that the Airport Express and MTR were 2 different things because the Airport Express damn expensive??? It was like 100HKD or something but because we bought it as a group, we each paid 62HKD.

Anyway, it turned out to be the same wtf. So if you don't want to take a bus or a taxi, there's only one train out of the airport and this is it LOL. But to be fair, the train really damn nice and much faster than their normal MTR hahaha

Kevin's super ancient wooden comb which I thought was very amusing LOL SOME MORE IT'S SO BIG AND HE JUST KEEPS THIS IN HIS EVERYDAY BAG???? SIMI SAI

Met our Kimbowly at Kowloon (????) and took a shuttle bus to Yau Ma Tei from there!! The shuttle bus we took was Bus 5 and we got off at the first stop. It doesn't stop exactly at YMT MTR station but at some hotel??? We were able to find our way to the station cause it was quite near though.

The bus was so small and the 7 of us almost didn't fit in LOL

After finding the YMT MTR station, we still got kind of lost trying to find our apartment LOL
BUT GOOGLE MAPS TO THE RESCUE

And finally after a long walk and long wait, we got to our apartment!!! Booked via AirBnB hehehe and I really really like it. It's very small la but all Hong Kong apartments are like that so bo bian

(link to apartment here)((also I had to leave a review for the host so if you see my face on the page sorry it's damn embarrassing but also bo bian))

Food came in HUGE portions, but the salt also came in equally huge portions lolol. Princess' organic rice risotto mushroom prawn thing was soOOoOooO good oMg but my pumpkin soup kind of sucked LOL. I forgot how much the total bill came up to be but if my memory doesn't fail me, each main dish was about $8-12??

This was at Fa Yuen street which was quite okay for shopping haha. We accidentally stumbled upon this street while on a search for Sneakers Street but I bought this pair of loafers for only 30HKD (~SGD6) oMG!!!!!!!!! Also had this supeeeerrrrrrrrrr nice pair of heeled booties for only 59HKD WTF BUT NO SIZE simi sai sia :-(

ok and then after our very failed attempt to find Sneakers Street...... We went back to our apartment cause TIRED

Look at how ridiculous I look!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also btw every night we took like 2 hours to prepare for bed BECAUSE ONLY 1 TOILET FOR 7 OF US TO BATHE ლ(ಠ_ಠლ)....... And in my defence, a lot of apartments on AirBnB only had like 1 toilet lor wtf when I searched for apartments that can fit 7 people and have 2 toilets, only like 5 listings came up wtf!!!!! Ok end of story bye haha day 2 is more interesting I promise ٩(•̤̀ᵕ•̤́๑).
