Perth 2014 (Day 2) - Curtin University | Westfield Carousel Mall

Sunday, June 29, 2014
We stayed at The New Esplanade Hotel.......... And we didn't like it at all. I mean it was okay, decent, and it wasn't like "creepy" creepy, but it didn't feel "homely" at all. The toilets weren't very nice at all (the tap was leaking) and our heater spoilt so we had to ask for a portable one. The farm we stayed at on the last night had HEATED TOILET FLOORS!!!!!!! Electronic heating blankets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ANIMALS!!!!!! A farm!!!

I mean location-wise, the farm cannot beat the hotel so I give some credit la LOL

The breakfast selection wasn't a lot either :( I really wanted eggs but there weren't any!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did like the bread though

Wanted to capture the rainbow in the sky but it turned out like this haha

Really cool chairs and tables that swivel around!!!!!!!!!
How nice are these!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We then had a tour around their counselling rooms

Toys for young clients during their sessions
There's a therapy called Play Therapy, and it's literally playing during the counselling session. It's to find out more about what the child is really thinking/feeling by observing how they play... Sounds damn fun right wtf

DSC_2483
They had observation rooms for people to observe the counselling session on-going in the counselling room
They even have the one-way mirrors/windows thingamob that police interrogation rooms also have haha

Talks by important people from the University......... Unfortunately I still didn't understand the uni routes and admission stuff and course structures wtf understanding poly systems are hard enough

DSC_2498
University bar for people to hang out in after exams
It's like a norm to really party and go wild after exams in the Universities I visited there, which I thought was quite cool???? Like they have campus parties and we saw quite a lot of posters for it around campus, because we visited during their exam period.

AND YA IT WAS RAINING DURING OUR TOUR AND I WAS WEARING NEW SHOES THAT I WAS JUST WEARING FOR THE FIRST TIME
Needless to say they got soaked and ruined :(
It also basically rained like everyday we were there hahaha

DSC_2499
Aussie food is expensive and a kebab was like Aud$11 there wtf

Our student tour guide Khairul, who's also a Singaporean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Super lucky we got him because  he's super nice and cool and also relatable!!!!!!! We heard stories about the other students' tour guides who weren't tooooooo good so :) :) :)

When he first spoke to us and introduced himself, could tell straightaway that his accent was super familiar!!!! It's actually super heartwarming to hear a Singaporean who's studying in Australia now and doing so well (studying Psych and doing his honors). Like makes it feel like it's possible, you know? He wasn't the only Singaporean we met on this trip too haha.

AND COMPARED TO EVERYONE ELSE I WEAR TILL DAMN CUI WTF black all day everyday

And we saw (yet again) another rainbow :)

We only had very little time to spend in the mall (which sucks)
And I actually had a picture of the map and all the shops I wanted to visit marked on the map w t f overly enthusiastic sia hahahahaha

Target which was on the top of Marilyn's and my "to-go" lists!!!!!!!!

Rummaging through the clearance racks cause we budget barbie version 2

DSC_2532
Lol a bit unglam but I actually quite like the grey sweater??????? It was $20 even at the clearance racks though :'''''''''(

DSC_2534 DSC_2538
I didn't get to buy anything in the shops we visited before this (sobs Factorie sobs ValleyGirl sobs) but I went quite overboard in Target and we even had to get a basket
I bought a patterned bodycon skirt ($7), a muscle tee ($5), 2 skater dresses ($10 each)(and they fit my waist!!!!!!!!!!) and a pair of shoes ($5) and I was so happy :''''''''''')

Lunch at Sushi Sushi cause sushi fans 5eva
I freaking love Aussie sushi!!!!!!!!!! So fat and thick and stubby!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But quite expensive cause mine was $3 per piece hahahaha

Untitled Untitled Untitled
Went to Jay-Jays AND IT WAS THE BEST IMPROMPTU DECISION EVER BECAUSE I BOUGHT 3 SHIRTS FOR $15 ONLY. AND 2 WERE $2.50 EACH?????????????????????????? I regret not buying more but then again I would have if I saw more nice shirts :( But I didn't :( :(

Coles afterwards for a quick grocery run
DSC_2545
Nutri-grain is actually pretty nice and I regret not buying a box back :(
It's the kind of cereal where the more you eat, the more nice it gets :( :(
So by the time I started to really like it, I was already on the bus to the countryside :( :( :(
And by then it was too late to buy a box :( :( :( :(

To be continued because I have too many pictures lolol

Perth 2014 (Day 1) - Changi Airport

This will probably be the most boring (and shortest) post from my Psych Study Trip to Perth
Already finished editing Day 2 & 3's photos and I'm so pleased with them!!!

I love airplane food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But honestly I guess it's more of a psychological (lolol) thing... Like it could be the fact that being on an airplane = traveling overseas = good mood, so everything I do on an airplane (i.e. eating airplane food, going to the airplane's toilet) makes me happy wtf. Classical conditioning la hahahahaha Untitled
But anyway I got the fish and rice and idk is it I hungry or really because the food was genuinely good, but I liked it a lot :-9

Did I also mention that we took Singapore Airlines?????????????????????
I'm very very very very lucky cause I get to travel overseas every year, but the last time I've been on a flight more than 3 hours was back in 2011 when I went to Melbourne!!!
