I realized that I have not documented this ~important milestone~ on my blog but I moved into my school hall on 23 July!!! I moved in on the first day of hall camp, and have been staying here for about a month already lor. Hall life has been great so far and I've been enjoying myself a lot more than I had expected to????

MY BIRFDAY GUIZE

12am: Family came into my room while I was settling uni stuff, and surprised me with the Ritz strawberry strudel that I rly wanted :') Thank you T_T

Woke up the next morning and went to CocoCane to meet my CocoCane friends, who all came together to celebrate my birthday too s0bz

Thank you Pearlynn, Peiru, Weiwei and Aunty Jenny!!!!!

Met Mav afterwards and headed back to home to nua before going to my aunt's house for another round of celebrations


Thank you Mav, Shaynnie, my er yi and my other relatives!!!!! I looked quite bad in the other photos la sorry hahahaha. But yay so loved and thankful teehee aiya twenty years old liao NO MORE BEING A TEENAGER!!!!! :-(

10 August (Wednesday) 
First official day of school (lessons-wise)!!!! Only had one lecture la and it was Social Science Research so quite uneventful LOL

Had a Freshmen Welcome event in my hall later at night, where we got to sign up for CCAs and find out more about hall etc. Met up with my Hall OG again after like 1.5 weeks and OMG I REALLY MISSED THEM?????????? Stayed and talked for like 5 hours no joke omg sigh :')

They also celebrated some of our birthdays which was really nice la!!!! er but I also got cake smashed on my face wtf HAHA

11 August (Thursday) 
Ended my lecture at 4.30pm, immediately rushed back to hall before meeting Mav at Jurong Point for a movie date!! I have no lessons on Friday so I get to move back home on Thursday too hehehe

poor boy was sick but insisted on meeting me anyway :''''( even wanted to send me home after our movie (Suicide Squad!!!) wtf but I refused???????

12 August (Friday) 
BITE & BIKE: OUR FIRST HALL EVENT WOOHOO!!!! Basically supper and overnight cycling from Changi Village to Marina Barrage wtf shAG

Had supper at CV before we started on our 25km (??) biking journey!! Diz is Isaac, Smeetha and my GL, Agnes


and my OG at our first pitstop at ECP after 1.5 hours of cycling!!! rested for a bit before we headed off to marina barrage LOLOL


3rd and final pit stop! Stayed here for like 2 hours to wait for the last group to arrive and everyone just conked out LOLOL

Ended the cycling at about 5.45am, went for breakfast at the new Macs before cabbing home with 2 other North Easties. I didn't get to sleep at Marina Barrage so I slept LIKE A BABY once I finally reached home at around 7+ am 

13 August (Saturday) 

Mav came over my house instead because I was so tired and I slept like 3 more times.............. lolololol sorry bibs hehe lub u

14 August (Sunday): 
No pics but went for supper with my OG outside of school, before walking back to our hall at like 12mn cause no bus wtf hahahahaha. despite my constant whining and groaning about walking back, it was actually pretty nice w/ the company of my OG la LOL

15 August (Monday) 
Second week of uniiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

My timetable for this semester is pretty chill, with most lessons starting in the afternoon and ending by 4.30pm HAHA. Monday is the exception la because I have an 8.30am lecture wtf. It's for one of my non-psych electives but Isaac (my hall friend/buddy) is in the same lect+tutorial so not too bad la.

Plus I have a 4 hour break afterwards before my next class and I went back hall to sleep LOLOLOL

backstory: Isaac and I spent like gazillion years (ok la I exaggerate: more like 25 minutes) at the school building figuring out how the computers/printers work, but for the life of us could not???? It was so embarrassing la like we were obviously blur-ass Year 1s and had to ask this senior how to even log in............... in the end I gave up cause Isaac had classes to go to and I was too embarrassed LOLOL. Ended up going back to my hall's computer room for my attempt no. 2 and IT WAS SO MUCH EASIER TO USE???????????

My first Intro to Psych lecture: A LECTURE I FINALLY BELONGED IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! out of the 5 modules I'm taking this semester, only 2 is psych-related...... so for the other 3 modules I'm still very very very lost la and it was so demoralizing ;_;

17 August (Wednesday) 

Hall life = ugly breakfast life
but woohoo i love pb bread w/ banana!!!!!!!!! since I don't have a fridge in hall (yet??? should i???), the only fruits I can eat here are bananas walao T_T no strawberries/papaya/watermelon etc :(

anyway thought i'd give a quick room tour of my hall room!!! cause before uni started, I googled about NTU halls endlessly to see what my future home would be like hahaha

as you can tell I didn't even bother tidying the place up because I had just woken up LOLOL. I swear it's not this messy la, like my hairdryer would be kept (after it cools down) and my bed is usually made

anyway I stay in a double room (the inner side) and got randomly allocated a roommate: but thank God I can get along well with my roomie!!!!!!!!!!!! she's really nice and v funny la hahaha so I get very entertained living with her LOL


L: my side of the wardrobes!!! got quite a lot of space in here & I only take up like half (for now). The purple "boxes" are where I keep my undergarments and sleeping clothes + towel respectively.
R: Toiletries in one side, and hair dryer that I chucked into the other


L: Hooks and a towel rack to hang my clothes for the day, a random goodie bag I don't know where to keep, and my towel. I know I'm not using the towel rack for its intended purpose, but I didn't know there was going to be one and bought the towel hanger from Daiso.......... didn't want to waste my $2 so I continued using the hanger lololol. Also have a laundry basket from Taobao at the end of my bed to keep dirty clothes lor
R: How smart of them to have drawers underneath the bed too!!!!!!! as usual, I'm only using 1/2 of what is given because I don't have much stuff (yet). I keep all my laundry & cleaning stuff (e.g. cloths, soap, detergent etc) here.

moving on to the part of the room I am at the most hahaha: my desk

L: again, it's usually not this messy la but I just ate my breakfast also so my dirty container is left there LOL
R: drawers where I just keep my stationery


L: Recycled my Althea box and put all the random table chapalang inside like my lamp, mirror, spare glasses and random gift cards LOL. I do my makeup (siol) at my table instead of my wardrobe mirror because there's a desk light here!!! Containers are all from Daiso
R: Laptop, random pouches, bottles to recycle, notes that I was revising......... and Prime mart plastic bag with bread and banana inside LOLOL

also, the black backing behind is actually a giant corkboard which is pretty useful!!! I just haven't put up anything there yet la cause lazy LOL


L: The top shelf is a bit hard to reach so I keep all my extra pouches and tissues here, along with yet another random goodie bag LOL. I was supposed to pass this to my friend because he wasn't there to collect it during hall camp.... I eventually passed it to him later on la after like 3 weeks LOL.

Bottom shelf is where I keep my textbooks/files, tissue and toiletries basket. I also have this little corner where I keep my dishwashing sponge and cups/containers that I just washed LOL

R: Top shelf for all my food containters etc, and my bottom shelf for all the food I can(not) possibly eat LOL


Under my desk is a box of Dasani water LOLOLOL. My mum bought it for me to use/drink during hall camp because knowing how much I can drink, she was worried that I couldn't find the pantry or watercooler (teehee). I've since figured my way around so I don't need this much now, but it was VERY useful during camp HAHAHAHA. I still have like 8 bottles left :---). Other random things here are my mini dustbin and router for room wifi WOOHOO

uni week 1

before uni started I told myself that I wasn't going to stress over grades as much as I did in poly and just focus on being ~at peace~ and ~happy~ and I'm really trying BUT sometimes it's easier said than done ley. the fact that I have to do quite a fair amount of non-psych electives throughout these 4 years in uni (~12????) isn't helping too because I'm already so used to psychology and it's still hard to see myself studying other fields :-(

plus I just signed up for hall events like recreational games (help) and next year's camp (double help) and cheer (triple help!!) so I really have to manage my time well!!!! 

sigh everything is scaring me but gotta remind myself that I'm engaging in defensive pessimism wtf so I should chill???? Right???????

This would look nicer with black/white bottoms but I love this shirt so much!!!! It doesn't ride up my shoulders that much since only the sides are elastic, so that's a bonus. This shade of blue isn't something I'd usually go for but I thought it was rllllyyyy pretty???? glad I went out of my comfort zone!!

This grey isn't the shade that I like/was pictured on the website but still nice nonetheless. It's labelled free size but it's not super stretchy & quite tight fitting on the body. But I can still fit la and it was such a cheap shirt so no complaints HAHA

Anyway, the above 4 items were all from this shop and this is my second time ordering from them!! Most of the items are ~my style~ (lolol), cheap and MOST IMPORTANTLY: items usually come true to stock pic!!!!

It's quite a popular shop so there are a lot of photo reviews for most of the items. This makes it easier to see if the item is similar to what is depicted!!! A lot of times Taobao stuff comes very different from expectations la, so I really appreciate it when a store actually delivers what it promises LOL. I usually don't buy an item from TB unless there are a few image reviews from other buyers. This way I can gauge what the actual item looks like. I trust this store enough though to still buy an item for them even if there are NO image reviews, cause I know they will be similar to stock pics!!!! Which is nice la cause I don't have to wait till someone posts a review before buying it HEHEHEHE

Also the clothes in this store is quite cheap la but u get what u pay for. Most of the shirts I've ordered have a few loose threads but it doesn't bother me that much. I think it's decent quality for the price and I can still get a few wears out of each so idm!!

12 July (Tuesday) 

Met up with my 2 fav fav fav aunties and girls from CocoCane!! Aunty Iris (in red) and I just had our last workshifts there at that point so I guess this was kind of a farewell dinner LOLOL

We had dinner at waterway point after Aunty Jenny finished her shift and omg we were making so much noise wtf legit. Like e.g. Aunty Jenny wanted to pay for our bingsu, so she tried to stuff a $50 note into my hand. I refused to take it from her so she chased after me, trying to stuff it into my bag????? We continued pushing the money back and fro until Aunty Jenny shouted at me: "MUMMY SCOLD YOU AH!!!" and of course passerbys turned to stare at me la so I had no choice but to take the money wtf aunty jenny pls :''''')


while the 2 aunties went to NTUC to do their grocery shopping, the 4 of us headed back to the store to take a pic for memories sake :-(

25 July (Monday) 
Day 3 of my uni hall camp!!!! Day 1 and 2 were mostly playing games but no pics sorrz.

Anyway apparently there is a thing in uni where we get paired up with someone of the opposite sex and go on a date (or double date) with them hahahaha. There's a lot more behind that la but idw to delve into details. they will pair you up with people with the same relationship status as you so it's not thaaat awkward.

so I got paired up with L and we went on a double date with his OG friend, whose date is my OG friend too la so that worked out well HAHAHA

The guys paid for the cab fare to Orchard and we had lunch at Koh's Grill & Bar!!!! they also insisted on paying for the food bill and refused to let us chip in too wtf SO NICE ;_;

there were a bunch of side tasks (like take a selfie with a stranger) we could do w/ our SPs, so we spent the rest of the afternoon doing that around Orchard LOLOL

Had to take pic with Haribo gummy also HAHA

heard of some awkward/bad stories about SPs from my other friends but I really enjoyed my time with the 3 of them!!!! thank u L for being so gentlemanly and spontaneous :-)))

Reported back to this function room at Novena at 5pm after our dates and was reunited with the rest of my OG!!! Watched some performances, had some beer (not me) and dinner there :-)

Hall camp... was really great :-) I really tried to step out of my comfort zone and I'm glad I did :-) aiya words really cannot describe how much fun I had la!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joined the 3-day faculty/course camp too!!! it was quite chill compared to hall camp which was good la cause hall camp drained me out LOLOLOL

woop woop!!!!! I was quite close to backing out but I'm so glad I didn't!!!! as cliche as it sounds, these people really made the whole camp experience fun and I'm happy w/ new friends hehehehe

also super thankful for the seniors (in red) because I bombarded them with SO many questions about uni after the camp!!!! they were vvvv willing to help this lost sheep out and I'm so appreciative sobs

Another CocoCane meetup with my girls (this is becoming a monthly thing hehe) and my boss too!!!!!!! she's super young right wtf damn capable and I have mad respect for her!!!! this time round was a legit farewell because most of us are leaving CocoCane soon for uni/internship/full-time work :-(

5 August (Friday) 
Rare family day out with my mum and brother for lunch at Tampines!! Missing my father (hello pa) but I'm thankful for time spent with family :-))

Advanced birthday treat from my fam!!!!! I got to try the chili crab XLB and it was really very shiok albeit a bit pricey ($7++ for 4)!!!!!!!!!! such a satisfying meal hehehehe
