13 December (Tuesday)
After bugging Mav for what seems like forever to go JB with me, he finally agreed to after he realized how gr8 the exchange rates are now lololol pls :---)

Anyway Mav and I were super lucky imo in terms of going to/coming back from JB that day, so I thought I'd share our journey first haha.

We had planned to take the 10am train to JB that day, so I reached Woodlands Train Checkpoint to buy the tickets at 8.45am but they were sold out wtf lololol - so tip no. 1: just don't bother buying train tickets in the morning lololol. there are no online sales for the tickets, and I heard you have to go down 1 day earlier to buy the tickets...... and ain't nobody got time for that :--)

Quickly called Mav and told him to meet me at Kranji MRT instead so that we can take the bus. We met there at around 9.15am, and queued for the CW1 bus. I only been to JB once by bus before this trip, and both times I took CW1 (operated by a malaysia bus company??) instead of bus 170 (operated by SBS). They're both literally side by side but the queue for bus 170 is always ridiculously long, and the queue for CW1 seems to always move quicker LOL. Mav and I got on the bus like immediately after I reached Kranji MRT so tip no. 2: take the CW1 bus, and make sure to have SGD$1 with you for the bus fare.

also tip no. 3: go early! e.g. meet at Kranji MRT at 9.15am like Mav and I did, because we managed to beat the crowd and reached JB by 10am w/ minimal waiting. 10am is also when most of the stores are opened so really just nice timing!!!! My other friend who went on the same day as I did started her journey at Kranji at 10.30am and waited for like 2 hours before entering JB wtf haha. and obviously tip no 3.5: go on a weekday if you can help it haha.

and last but not least tip no. 4: take the train back to SG, and buy the tickets once you reach JB!! taking the train back to SG was one of the best decision I have made lololol. It's only RM5 per pax and we took the 7pm train that day. We started queueing at around 6.15pm and waited till 7pm BUT it was all in an air-conditioned room T________T. I mean you still gotta fight the crowd a bit to get a seat in the train... but even if you don't, the train ride is only like 5 minutes long la so it doesn't matter. The previous time I went to JB, I took the bus back to SG and the bus terminal was bloody crowded and ridiculously hot!!!!!!!!! Even when I finally got on the bus, I had no seats and there was a jam so I was standing on the bus for really long 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 really not something you want to do after a long day of shopping with sore legs and heavy plastic bags hahaha

ok those are my tips for a gr99999 and fast journey to & from JB!!!!!!!!!! the journey I took the first time I came to JB was horrid and put me off going to JB for awhile despite cheap everything BUT I have now been enlightened :')

VENTURED OUT OF KSL to find a massage place at Holiday Plaza!! It's quite easy to get there actually??? like walk out of KSL from the entrance/exit next to Coffee Bean, turn left towards the KSL attached hotel, walk straight and you will see the Holiday Plaza building to ur top left!!!

In hindsight the place was a bit sleazy lolol but the massage place we went to was recommended on some blog and 100% not sleazy I swear. It's called Thong Thai and we had a really good experience!!! RM68 for an hour haha

After that we went back to KSL... to eat more cause we phat

L: Mav has been wanting to eat fried ice cream since forever and we finally found it at KSL!!!! It's at this purple snacks kiosk right outside the cinema & electronics shop at the top level of KSL. The fried ice cream was RM4 only and it was actually really good??? the takoyaki from the same place is really nice and big and shiok!!!
