Batam '16 (27/11 - 28/11)

my father won a Canon Legria Mini in a lucky draw and he kindly gave it to me!!! was very excited to use it so I immediately brought it to Batam w/ me the next day after charging wuuhuu. I haven't played around with the settings/gotten used to it so some photos are terribly orange or has my finger in it (cause the wide angle captures practically everything) 

but anyhoo: my batam trip with the fam after finals ended!!! 

27 November (Sunday) 

we took the 'majestic fast ferry' and it is sibei luxe wor!!!!!!! super comfy spacious and clean!! 

++++ it was a Sunday and vvv empty so more seats for us 😍

had time to spare because the place we wanted to go for lunch wasn't opened yet when we reached, so we went to play timezone. my father paid like SGD$20 and got $40 worth of credits so we played A LOT of games!!! plus they were all vvv cheap 

really reliving our childhood because my parents used to bring my brother and I to Timezone a lot when we stayed in Jakarta and even when we moved to Singapore 😢!!!! We also had the Gold timezone cards which honestly made me feel like a v cool kid LOL 

me and JingWen used to play this Love&Berry game a lot in Genting HAHAHAHA 

up till now I don't know how the game worked zzz but I played just to collect the cards wtf 

lunch at a nasi padang store 

not my thing because the oil will screw my stomach over lolol 

checked into our room at the da Vienna boutique hotel which was pretty nice!!  

the camera also has a pop up screen so we can see ourselves when we take selfies but then nobody ever looks at the camera directly LOLOL 

finger lol 

omg if u ever go to indonesia, their orange juice is really nice like NOT SOUR AT ALL!!!! orange + coconut is even nicer hahaha 

disgustingly orange photo but this is me with jus alpukat (avocado juice) and roti bakar (toasted bread) w/ chocolate and cheese 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 oh how I love thee

SIOMAY which are like these fish paste things/potato/egg with a vv yummy peanut sauce 

AND MY ULTIMATE INDONESIA FAV!!!!!!!!!!!!!! pisang goreng w/ keju (cheese) and susu (condensed milk) 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 lolololol super unhealthy but I will willingly lick the plate clean for this no JOKE. unfortunately this one at the old malaya cafe????? isn't the best cause the batter to banana ratio was so off but i'll take it still!!!!

"we'll just stop here for a quick snack" - we ended up ordering like 4 main dishes + soup + drinks wtf greedy LOLOLOL 

the reason we ate here was for the pempek, which is that plate of fried stuff and black sauce LOL. idk what it is la I think more fish paste lolol but I really love it T_T 

$1.50 Magnum simi sai!!!! we were super full but I wanted to try this flavor HAHAHAHA. it really tasted like creme brulee wtf they even have like bits of crunchy caramelized sugar in every bite T_T so good wtf 

as if we didn't eat enough: we went to buy supper 

I FORGOT TO TAKE A PIC OF THE ACTUAL THING but another one of my fav: murtabak manis (sweet)!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's basically like mee jiang kueh but way more unhealthy LOL. my favvvvvv filling is cheese and condensed milk!!!!!

basically in indonesia my top favorite food is anything with cheese/condensed milk/banana/chocolate LOLOLOL CANNOT GO WRONG ONE!!!!!!! the best is if it's all 4 la wtf thank God I don't stay in Indonesia anymore hahahahahaha confirm fat 

28 November (Monday) 

hotel breakfast buffet yum 

omg guess what we found while walking to the mall 

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROADSIDE PISANG GORENG MY ULTIMATE LUV AND SO CHEAP like 10cents each only wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't like breaded pisang goreng hahaha I only like the battered kind which these are!!!!!!!

while I nom on roadside fried food 

so old school and so much childhood memories LOL like how they just dump everything in a plastic bag without fancy individual plastic/paper bags for each item 

had to have A&W at least once!!!

salted caramel waffles that were like $2 or something ridiculously cheap wtf 

durian ice cream rolls!!! the durian pengat omg so GOOD!!! the ice cream not so LOL

our last food stop of the trip: es teler 77!!! 

es teler!! ice with avocado coconut and jackfruit haha it sounds damn weird but it's vvv good!! I realize Indonesians tend to use avocado in desserts/sweet stuff (e.g. avocado & chocolate juice) as compared to being used for savory dishes like in SG hahaha 

requested to come here to have my second roti bakar with cheese, chocolate and condensed milk HAHAHAHA. I ate with the pisang goreng we bought from the roadside store and it was BLISS LA
