uni week 11

The past 3 months of uni have been relatively smooth-sailing and manageable (despite the daily constant studying) but the past 2 weeks have basically been shit.

Hall life was quite happening too: last week, I had something hall-related every night I was there — mostly suppers with my hall friends, and hall inter-block games on one of the nights. One of the suppers that week was COOKED BY ME (and my other block reps) BTW. It was quite nerve-wrecking la but we managed to pull through and cook for 100 pax: a huge feat considering the fact that the 4 of us aren't the best cooks out there hahaha (I even burnt my hand while scooping noodles out wtf). Even though all that took up precious time that could have been spent studying (haha), I honestly did enjoy myself immensely and realized just how bad I wanted to remain in hall next year.

This week, there were also interviews for next year's FOC recruitment and hall production auditions. I went for both.

I got through the auditions (wowowow) but not the GL interview... which was a huge disappointment la. I went for the auditions because some seniors convinced me that I should really try it out, but being a GL was the one and only thing I had set out for when I came to hall. All the other things I got in (e.g. block rep) wasn't part of the plan (still vvv thankful nonetheless) so when I didn't get in, I was really quite upset la. Friends I talked to about wanting to be a GL all said things like "u confirm can one" and I really thought I could la lolololol

Anyway I'm just really scared that I won't get into hall again next year. Don't get me wrong, I really like my friends in my course but the people I spend most time with is undeniably the people in my hall, with all the hall events and the ease of meeting for suppers and bumping into each other when you're walking to the pantry etc. Hall and hall friends just really keep me sane and happy yknow!!!!!! if I don't get into hall next year, such a huge part of my uni life (and my support system ;_;) is gone :( The other week all the stress just got to me and I broke down and I didn't want to stay alone in my room and texted Isaac to ask if he could meet me downstairs for awhile and he did.. and it was just really comforting to not cry alone (LOL)  la. Or when I'm sick of studying astronomy and meet Cheryl and Smee and YuanXin and Ryan for impromptu supper at the lounge downstairs and it takes my mind off my endless to-do lists u____u

plus all the stress about hall and uni (but mostly hall) made me a big self-deprecating blob of sadness and long story short mav and I didn't have the best of days either. it was like 2-3 days of (non-aggressive don't worry) confrontations and all but we talked it out and it's over and settled so :)

I was talking to Smee about the whole GL thing and she reminded me that it was part of God's plan yknow and that was a really timely reminder?? Trust that He knows better and even if I end up in another department other than GL in next year's FOC (providing I can even get into another one first), it's ok!!!!! :))



hahaha wanted to just post a rly short update on my sucky 2 weeks of uni just so I can ~remember~ all the good and the bad but it didn't turn out very short la HAHA ok bye!!!!! last slide to finish up before I can sleep and meet Mav **FOR SUSHI** tomorrow :)

also to end positively: today I finally saw the doctor for the (3-weeks old) rashes on my legs (photos another time lolol) and I went out with my momma AND WE BOUGHT LOTSA GOOD FOOD!!!!!! Like Llao Llao and pine garden cakes and nine fresh and Inari sushi yum yum + my mum sponsored some taobao stuff for me HAHA + I had a productive night of studying because the 3 chapters I did today were short and understandable!!!!! what a stark contrast from 1 chapter of astronomy that takes me 3-4 nights to finish lolol BUT OK BYE

uni week 9

yesterday they (my hall) were giving out the popular Taiwan latte thing and my roomie managed to get one for meeee :") it was 12mn and I had just taken a nap from 9-10pm, but I still decided to drink it anyway (despite my extreme sensitivity to caffeine) because I thought: "how bad could it be????"



I ended up sleeping at 10am :---)

had to wake up to prep for classes at 12pm so obviously I was so bloody sleepy throughout the day la wtf!!!!! Took another nap at 6pm before waking up for a LONG overdue dinner with my OG which I thoroughly enjoyed. it was a LOT of laughter and catching up with one another!!!!!!! even though Jerome couldn't stop insulting me the moment he came in and sat besides me la, so that's always nice :--)

anyway so after 2h of eating & chatting, i went back to my room.... AND TOOK ANOTHER NAP!!!! I snoozed the alarm like >8 times lol and was so so so tempted to just sleep till tomorrow... but ASTRONOMY won't study itself :")

erm pointlessly long story short: I forced myself to write at least one page of astro notes before packing up/cleaning the room/washing my plates & cups lolol and now I'm FINALLY IN BED!!!1!1!!11!1!1!2 it's only 1am which is extremely early by my standards but fak I deserve this sleep

Moral of story: no more coffee for me

P.S. on the night I slept at 10am, there was also a 2m long snake that went to the building besides mine in hall at 2.30am  so my roomie and I went to check that out HAHAHAHA IT EVEN APPEARED ON THE NEWS OK!!!! LOL

Since I couldn't sleep (it's 8:12am now): I got out of bed to work on my essay instead and after that was done, decided to blog because now is probably the only time I'll allow myself to not study for >1 hour lolol

19 September (Monday) 

Vegetarian food at NTU's Koufu which I loOOoOOoOve because BROWN RICE W/ EGG & TOFU!!!! I actually don't eat veggies at all but I only like to order tofu and egg at caifan stores anyway which the vegetarian store has an abundance of lolol  

20 September (Tuesday) 

Went to a 2 hour Loreal recruitment talk for the sole purpose of getting this: 

Their goodie bag which was freaking worth it??????????????????? worth the awkward 2 hours I spent alone in the auditorium LOLOL 

erm most excited about this BECAUSE WTF FREE MAKEUP!!!!!!!!!!!! The items in this picture alone is worth like SGD75 ley wtf???????? 

but actually their recruitment talk is quite inspiring also la LOLOL I just don't really see myself working there with psychology 

22 September (Thursday) 

Ordered this Missha BB cushion on Shoppee for only $16 wh00p wh00p - it was a reward to myself for completing my first astronomy quiz LOL 

23 September (Friday) 

I MET MY COCOBABIES FOR DINNER YAY 

We had Swee Choon and I expected to eat a lot but I gave up after like 2 rounds of ordering simi sai!!!! plus the food wasn't as nice as I had expected leh :-( so disappointing

Pearl, Wei and I went to walk around and we saw a TimeZone!! We went in to see see look look AND SAW A NEOPRINT MACHINE SO WE HAD TO. also it's been 5eva since the neoprint trend and we all lost touch on how to pose LOL 

25 September (Sunday) 

Impromptu meetup with my airforce boi boi Daryl because I was craving for Maki-San LOL 

omg so yummyyyyy!!!!!!!! it was $10+ (crei) and I can totally recreate this at home la but LAZE

28 September (Wednesday) 

MAV HAD 3 DAYS OFF (before the weekends, so total 5 days tgt) AND I GOT TO MEET HIM :-))) 

first day was spent watching "Train to Busan" in bed!!! I think all the hype set my expectationsreally high and I was a tad bit disappointed with the actual show hahaha meh. I prefer "World War Z" but Mav thought TTB was good!!!! 

Had steamboat for dinner at JPot with his parents later on which was so good???? even though it left me really bloated la BUT WORTH IT LOL

30 September (Friday) 

Mav came over to Punggol and we met at Waterway Point because I was craving for bingsu haha

1 October (Saturday) 

Had my aunt's 50th birthday surprise celebration that day and got to dress up nice nice!!! 

er eyeliner very uneven but forgive pls this was merely my second time + I had no time to touch up LOL 

THE PARTY WAS SO ATAS AND THERE WAS EVEN A PHOTOBOOTH LOL 

w/ my cousins JingWen and Pamelia (who organized this party for her mum!!) 

the other children of my father's siblings + my father's sister (aka the birthday girl!!) 

Also got one with Mav which is nice because I don't think we've ever had an actual "professional" picture taken of us (not taken by iPhone lol) :-))...... even though we had props on la but cute hor 

2 October (Sunday) 

Last and fifth day in a row I saw Mav before he flew off to Australia for 3 weeks :-( 

His parents came to pick me up as usual :-))) 

nua-ed a bit at Mav's house before we went out for dinner at Swensen's 

His parents ordered so much food!!! We had like 2 soups, 4 mains and 1 chocolate fondue to share amongst us all omg. It was a very satisfying meal and I'm very thankful that Mav's family is so nice to me??? :'( 

7 October (Friday) 

Went out with my mum when I came back from hall and we brought this rascal (who I love very dearly) along HAHA 

8 October (Saturday) 

YONGJUN'S WEDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY OMG after hearing his and his wife's lovey dovey story in year 1 :') 

Got to reunite with my fav ever poly leturers T___________T 

and WahPheow who wanted to take a photo with me ley!!!!!!!!!! :'') xiao touched de :'') 

All the 02 girls (minus Hana) at the wedding!! Was initially hesistating to go (because school) but so glad I went in the end :o)

when YJ and wife came over for photo taking, we passed him our wedding gift and made him down a glass of wine hahaha

TELEPATHY GAME SUPER STRONG with Valerie WTF HAHA 

also finally brought a toaster to school........ ALL THE TOASTED BREAD I HAVE BEEN MISSING OUT ON IN THE PAST 2 MONTHS T___T

took a nap, went for another class before heading out to meet my family at Orchard for my mum's birthday buffet hehehehe 

WOOHOO I LOVE BIRTHDAY'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! happy belated birthday mummy hehehe
