28 September (Monday)
Hello from my office in Adelaide!!!!
I have been here for exactly a week, and I haven't really wrote a proper update... Except for that one very ugly and disorganized post I typed using the blogger app which I've since deleted.
I've only mentioned this in passing in like 2 blog posts but for those who don't know, I've been posted to Flinders University here in Adelaide, Australia to do my student internship programme. All the Year 3 students in my school are required to do their internship at different organizations in order to graduate, and I just so happened to be posted to an organization overseas. I'm extremely grateful for this opportunity both my school and parents have given me because I know that working overseas would be a really good opportunity for me!!
I'm here in Adelaide with 3 other schoolmates, of whom I'm good friends with so thank God for that because I'll be living with them here for 6 whole weeks. We have a house at Glenelg, near Jetty Road (a shopping district??) and it's super nice!!! So far living here without my parents have been good... I mean I haven't fallen drastically ill or anything so I assume all is well HAHA. My housemates have taken extremely good care of me and they cook super well so that's another plus point, since eating out here is really expensive. We've been to a few touristy places like Rundle Mall and Harbourtown and we're planning to go to a lot more during the next few weekends!!!
As far as my internship goes, work has been okay too. It's been a bit hard to get used to, especially because we're given A LOT of independence here in Australia as compared to what we're used to in Singapore. I've been specifically assigned to do research in something I haven't gotten much exposure to in Singapore so I'm looking forward to see what I can learn here :) We've met a lot of nice supervisors and even some Singaporean students studying here so that's nice too.
The past week has been surprisingly hectic, because I have to worry about house chores now and I constantly have something on my hands to do. Blogging won't be my top priority now because I just want to maximise my time here (and not waste my parent's hard-earned money) but I'll try to update whenever I can hehe.
I have been enjoying myself a lot and I'm looking forward to the next 5 weeks :) ok bye!!!!!!
oh mah gahd just one week in aussie and you sound all grown up and matured and MY TEARS....................... *bawls like a baby* HAVE FUN!!
