The first try at drawing this failed realllllllly badly, and it was during my term test period so I didn't bother to try again (because study #1 priority s0bz). I tried it again the second time, and as I progressed I realized the eyes looked weird, the nose looks disproportionate, the shadows felt wrong....... But I still continued anyway because I had already put in so much effort (and pencil lead) so I might as well? (#CommitmentEffect)

And then after I finished shading the face and completed the last few strokes for the hair, I realized that everything actually looks quite... Good??? The eyes seemed to fit, the nose looked like a nose and the shadows didn't look out of place. Idk to me drawing has always been a process where I had to learn to  not give up halfway. Halfway through a drawing, I'd always think "this looks so weird" "it looks nothing like the picture"..... But at the end, everything always looks fine and put together, like how I had envisioned it to be.

And then I'd spend the next 10 minutes just admiring my work of art (cough cough lol ahem) HAHAHAHAHAHA

Okay la I don't feel that emotional and philosophical when I draw but it's actually really true?????? And I wasn't planning on typing that all down but posting this picture alone without words would feel quite pretentious...... So there you go lol Jerlyn's life lessons of the day: Don't give up HAHAHAHAHAHA

ok bye

P.S. the photo this was referenced from was found from Weiling's Tumblr (hi weiling) when I was looking for pictures to print as stickers for her birthday present HAHAHA
P.P.S. ya everything I draw, I reference from another picture lol I can't draw w/o having a reference for nuts
