Blogged when I found out that I was placed on the Director's List for the Acad Year of 2013/2014, and last Friday was the ceremony!!
PHOTO SPAM OF THE SAME FEW PHOTOS
But it was one of the proudest moments I've had so :-)))))))))))))
This photo was taken from Paolo, so the focus in these photos were on him la BUT I'M BEHIND HIM SO lolol
And me!!!!!!!!!
Black all day everyday lol Hana's going to disappointed :-(
Group photo with the other Director's List award recipients
From the 3 different courses in HSS and both Year 2's and 3's!!
Backstage with the other Year 2 & 3 Psych students while waiting for our group photo turn hahaha
Formal and fun shot which Paolo came up with HAHAHAHAHAHA
IT WAS SUPER IMPROMPTU LA but Paolo is such a people person, he manage to convince all of us to pose like this before we went up!!! So glad that everyone was really supportive and chill about it la.
Since this fun shot was an impromptu one, the director (man in blue) did not know about it and neither did the audience LOL.
Thought we were going to be lectured for "misbehaving"..............
BUT THEN AFTER SEEING US DO THE FUN SHOT, ALL OUR PSYCH LECTURERS GOT UP FROM THEIR SEATS AND RAN UP TO JOIN IN
Was really not expecting this at all, and it was just so heart-warming la!!!!!!!!! Are our psych lecturers cool or cool???????? And I just felt so proud to be in Psychology, like we were the only ones to do a fun shot and have our lecturers join in as well HAHAHAHA
Really like this candid shot!!!!!!!!!!!!
And also how the director is just standing there while all of us go about making a fool (in the best way possible) of ourselves around him HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
But he's a really cool dude too la I think he was just caught off guard (like 99% of the audience) HAHAHA
All the Year 2 Psych recipients, Andria, Makayla, Paolo, me!, Zann and Bryan, with my care person, Mr Lee :-)
The sign we were doing (trying to) was the symbol for Psychology LOL. Again, it was Paolo who came up with the idea hahahaha
L: With my 2nd aunt and Shaynnie, who came for me because my parents were overseas. So thankful that they came all the way to the east (from north), waited for me to take all the photos, and even brought me to dinner later on :-)))))
R: With Kayla, the first person I met in poly and one of the nicest, NICEST people I've ever met.
Hahahahahahaha
SELFIE WITH MR LEE'S PHONE
And ya, 4 out of the 6 Year 2 psych recipients are from class 02 HAHAHAHAHA
02 POWER 02 PRIDE
Probably my favourite bunch of photos we took that day
DIVA POSES WITH THE RECIPIENTS AND OUR LECTURERS
The middle photo was our best shot and I'M REALLY HAPPY OUR LECTURERS PLAYED ALONG
With Ms Kek (Social Psych), Mr Lee, Emil (both Research Methods), Sharon (Counselling Psych), Gabby (Developmental Psych), and Dr Tan aka Wah Pheow (Cognitive Psych) (◡‿◡✿) Still missing a lot of other lecturers like Mr Chua, who used to be our care person before Mr Lee took over!!!
I JUST REALLY REALLY REALLY LOVE ALL THE PSYCH LECTURERS
The best best best best best care person a class can ever ask for :-)
Paolo and his ideas ................ HAHAHAHAHAHA
I think Mr Lee deserves a lot of recognition for being just as good as Pao in posing HAHAHAHAHA (throwback to this photo)
Genuinely really happy and proud for the other recipients (◡‿◡✿)
Especially for these 3 because being in the same class as them, I know just how hard they've worked and they're all SERIOUSLY LIKE NO JOKE NO EXAGGERATION the nicest people I've ever known.
Photo credits to Shaynnie, Paolo, Mr Lee and Andria!!!
Idk how to make this sound less cocky and arrogant, but I'm just really happy and proud of myself for achieving this la. I really NEVER thought I'd get this. Like, getting the TP scholarship, a 4.0 last semester, and even my O Level results were things I didn't expect either... But it was things that I've THOUGHT and DREAMT about getting. But getting into the Director's List just NEVER crossed my mind AT ALL, until I got the email notifying me.
It's already an amazing feeling to be in the top 6 of your class, let alone top 6 of the whole cohort. AND AGAIN I SAY THIS IN THE MOST HUMBLEST WAY POSSIBLE, but there's really a lot of smart people in this Psychology course. And I guess that's why it's just really unexpected FOR ME ESPECIALLY to be in the top 10% la.
Some of my sec 4 classmates kept looking down on me for dropping to Combined Science... But then again look at me now, achieving things I (or you guys) would never have thought I'd achieve.
Getting this award also made me just really think back and appreciate everything and everyone I've experienced/known ever since I entered Poly :-)))))

For starters, my class TG02. I used to distant myself away from the class because I was always so caught up with my own clique... But after slowly getting to (really) know my other classmates, I've just came to appreciate how everyone is just genuinely so nice. I've NEVER met classmates as nice and supportive as them la, like really. I've never felt so thankful to be in a class, until I met the people from 02. There isn't anybody I don't like (lolol) AND EVERYONE IS JUST WILLING TO HELP ONE ANOTHER. We did get into 1 or 2 very mini, slight disagreement before (in class chats LOL) but we never hold a grudge.
AND MY CLIQUE ALSO LA especially Marilyn and Sam whom I've known (literally) since day 1 of poly. These people are the ones who see me almost everyday, and these are the people who have seen me stressed and panicked the most. These are also the people who always try to calm me down (which is hard), support me, and who will be genuinely happy for the things I've achieved.
And my tutors/lecturers!!!!!!!!!!! I love the fact that Psychology is such a tiny course with one of the most (if not the most) smallest cohorts. I feel like this way everyone knows one another, including the lecturers. I've said this a million times, but our lecturers are just the coolest la hahahaha. Even though in poly, tutors/lecturers generally leave you on your own when it comes to assignments, they will still help out as much as they can.
I don't think I would have achieved what I've achieved if my lecturers didn't help read my assignment drafts or make time for consultation sessions or answer my 10001022021 questions in class.
As much as I love poly A LOT, I cannottttttttttt forget about my friends who were friends with me way before poly AND THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE SEEN UGLY AND NERDY 13 Y/O JERLYN LAM. Especially, Weiling and Daryl la (◡‿◡✿) I've never really talked to many of my friends after graduating, except for a small bunch haha. JUST SO THANKFUL LA because even though we're not in the same school, they still really care a lot about me la. ALL THE LONG TEXTS OF ENCOURAGEMENT REALLY HELP ME GET ALONG SO THANKS A LOT A LOT A LOT A LOT I really really really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart!!!!!!!!!!!! Psychologists (oooOooOooOooH)(dk how true la cause people always say psychologists say this, say that even when it's not true lol) says if a friendship lasts for more than 7 years, it will last a lifetime........ LOL 6 years already, 4 more months to a lifetime AHHAHAAHAHAHA
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST MY PARENTS!!!!!!!!! The best parents I could ever ask for because they never set any expectations for me (except to always try my best) and are always happy with whatever results I get back :-)))))))))
Really really thank God for every single opportunity I've gotten, achievement I've achieved and people I've met :-) Really, really blessed. I will stay humble and not take things for granted, but let this only motivate me to continue working hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For example it's going to motivate me to study Counselling Psych now even though it's already 3:35am HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
